I went to see a tribute band last night

"dressed to kill" a tribute to KISS.

actually they were very good, only knew 2 songs but there acr was very good.

got chatting to the basss player...and he is a very big fan of of our very own Norman Watt-Roy, he reckons Norman is the bees knees.

Well...

We all went to see the film yesterday.

I am not going to go into a long review as I don't want to spoil things but I will ask that you do not go in expecting to see a film about Ian Dury and The Blockheads.
This is a film about Ian Dury.
The Blockheads do not feature in this story.
Obviously there are actors playing them (those of you who were extras saw that). That is as much as you get of the band and apart from Chaz and Davey they do not have names or lines in the film.

Yes there are innaccuracies such as the Kilburn's playing a couple of songs that were written after they split up and things like The Strangler being the one who witnessed the Omar Sharif fight (it was Norman) but unless it was a miniseries or a very long film it would be difficult to tell things exactly as they were/are.

Peter Blake has contributed some great graphics and there are some interesting visual goings on (animation wise).

What makes the film (and what I would actually challenge anyone to disagree with) is Andy's performance. He is so good that I (with a lifetime of visiting and working on film sets) could actually forget I was watching him. He is absolutely brilliant.

I am not going to go into the story as you all have a couple of months until you see it and I don't want to spoil things for anyone... If anyone has any questions then please go ahead (below) and anyone who doesn't want spoilers can look away!

Oh yes... One thing you will probably want to know is what the concert scenes look like (since alot of you are in them). I think you will find it very difficult to spot yourselves as the cameras move very quickly and the editing is also very quick so there are only ever split second shots of the audience...

Playing all the classics such as 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick', 'Sex And Drugs And Rock And Roll', 'Reasons To Be Cheerful' and 'What A Waste'.

from the gigs website it also states the boomtownrats are playing.

Went to see Bad Manners on Saturday
They didnt show up so all us fans were chatting outside
